Budapest has a lot to offer in terms of great architecture. This is one of my favorite buildings in the city. The incredible, beautifully decorated eight-story studio-house and home was built for Manó Mai, Imperial and Royal Court Photographer (1855-1917). He was one of the best specialists of child portraits in that period.
The House is currently a centre of photography, including the restored Sunlight-studio where actual photographing took place in Mai’s time. It also has several exhibition halls, a bookshop and a library specialised in photography.
The building can be found in the Theater District. During our Artistic Budapest Tour we will walk around in that area too; if you are interested in photography we can also visit it.
